About The DuPage County Board

What does the DuPage County Board do?

Broadly, the DuPage County Board fills the roles of government not filled by other units of government in the county. For examples of what the County Board does not do: the County Board does not manage the Forest Preserves - the Forest Preserve is another unit of government. The County Board also does not maintain the roads controlled by local cities or villages - the cities and villages do that. The County does maintain roads not maintained by the state or local villages, cities, and townships, as an example of what the County Board does do. The County also has a few social services it manages. The County also has a Sheriff and a Board of Elections, but these are led by elected officials not on the County Board - and there is some controversy now about this arrangement and the County Clerk's office - look for more from me in the future about this issue.

To be eligible to vote for me in the upcoming election you must live in DuPage County District 5.  District 5 is northern Naperville, western Lisle, and parts of a few bordering towns.
